We are excited to announce that the kick-off meeting for PLASTINEST took place in a hybrid format (Bordeaux and zoom) on the 14th of December 2022. After several months of exchanges, the PLASTINEST team finally came together to discuss the project’s goals, timeline, and strategy.
During the meeting, we introduced ourselves and shared our areas of expertise. We were also pleased to introduce Betty John, the newest addition to our team and a recent PhD student in Environmental Physics at the EPOC laboratory.
Most of the meeting was spent reviewing the project’s resources, schedule, data management plan, and technical requirements. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get on the same page and clarify any questions or concerns we had about the project.
Over the next few months, we’ll be working hard to set up lab, field and numerical experiments. We’re confident that PLASTINEST will contribute significantly to our understanding of microplastic transport in estuaries and will pave the way for future research in the field.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on our progress and share our results with you as soon as they become available.
